Addiction Support Group
If you treat an individual as he is, he will stay as he is, but if you treat him as if he were
what he ought to be and could be, he will become what he ought to be and could
be.”—JOHANN WOLFGANG VON GOETHE
This group will run virtually on a weekly basis. The group will be free, voluntary, and open to men and women over 18. All are welcome, even if you may be just starting your journey by using harm reduction or working on maintaining an already-established abstinence from your addiction.
People impacted by all forms of addiction are welcome in the group, as connection is the path out of addiction. The group will be facilitated from a harm reduction and motivational interviewing philosophy, and these approaches to addiction recovery are not 12-step interventions but are empathetic, respectful and practical.
The facilitators will provide you with opportunities to share what is important and give you the opportunity to support fellow group members who ask for support. Staff will provide information that the group might be interested in learning. The group is expected to evolve and change in responses provided by group members.
