Fall is here, as is the fourth wave...
My summer blog’s theme was hope. Our hopes have been dashed yet again, as Covid-19 shape-shifts and continues to plague our lives and relationships. However, I do feel that the hope we had only a few months ago was the tonic we needed to get us through this never ending cycle. We got there once, we will get there again.
As Dr. Jody Carrington reminds us, we are fighting a pandemic, not each other. I need to consider daily how fear and lack of leadership and/or direction is contributing to my own sense of anger and disappointment. We have endured an unprecedented 18 months, we have proven our resilience and ability to adapt and evolve. Let’s not give up now.
September 10th is World Suicide Prevention Day. For some, it is a day to reflect and remember loved ones lost to suicide. For others it is a reminder to continuously advocate for preventative mental health supports to prevent these tragedies. For many, it increases our awareness of how we and those around us are feeling. If you find yourself struggling, please know we are here to help.
