Goodbye, summer…

Goodbye, summer….

I hope you all enjoyed the hot summer, it is really too short in our corner of the world.  For me, fall is my favourite season, there is just something about the fresh, cool mornings and evenings, and of course the beautiful colours that feel like comfort and home.

Fall is also an exciting time at Momentum.  We are welcoming four new Interns to the team as well as new clinical team members and group facilitators! We are also fortunate to welcome back many graduates who are coming back to volunteer! We love to see our Momentum family grow.

September 10th is World Suicide Prevention Day, this years theme is “Creating Hope Through Action”.  We can all play a part in preventing suicide.  The Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention has developed a tool-kit that provides helpful tools and resources on how you can get involved.  There are many events in honour of this day happening in and around Edmonton this week, check out this link for more information.

We are disappointed to announce that the Momentum Mental Health Awards on October 6th are cancelled.  We just didn’t receive enough interest this year.  We will be sharing the nominations with the nominees in a way that celebrates their achievements.

Please help us help our community.  We need you, more than ever.

As always, we couldn’t do what we do without you!

If you would like to assist us in providing low-cost, quality mental health support, please consider donating.  As a registered charity, you will receive a tax receipt.  Thanks for helping keep the Momentum!

With the health, safety and comfort of our clients and team members being our first priority, we are transitioning to in-person counselling on Tuesdays and Thursdays by appointment only, beginning April 1st. We will continue to offer all of our services virtually as well. When booking your preferred method, please watch for ‘in person’ or ‘virtual’ offerings in the schedule.
